Parents of School-Aged Children
MDSN believes that it is both incredibly important, and sometimes incredibly difficult, to be an advocate for your child. Nowhere more so than at school.
We want to provide you with tips, tools and techniques to make the job a little easier.
Parents are vital members of the IEP team. They provide dreams and direction. They provide crucial insight to educators and therapists who see the child only in the school setting. They provide support, and follow through. Parents can also be experts, not only on their own children, but on Down syndrome development and best practices and new resources.
It is vital to the success of the student to build a strong, positive relationship among all members of the IEP team.
